World Autism Day: III Runner FASHION

If you’re a true #SandiaFashionLover you’ll know that our fruit is a lover of inclusion! So on the eve of World Autism Day we’re wearing blue and joining this cause. But first of all, what do you know about this day?

When is World Autism Day celebrated?

The 2nd of April is the World Autism Day to raise awareness to the whole society, where in most of the countries the colours of the rainbow and diversity are paraded, making reference to the fact that autism is the blue colour of a great palette that we form as a community.

Why is World Autism Day celebrated?

It is celebrated with the purpose of raising awareness and understanding about autism. The main purpose of all this is to promote inclusion, acceptance and support for people with autism, as well as their families and carers. By highlighting this day, the aim is to combat the stigma and prejudice associated with autism, as well as to promote equal opportunities for all people, regardless of their neurodiversity.

In addition, World Autism Day also serves as a platform to promote research, education and access to services and resources for people with autism. It seeks to promote policies and actions that improve the quality of life of people with autism worldwide by addressing their specific needs in areas such as health, education, employment and community participation.

World Autism Day: what we do from Sandía Fashion

Sandía Fashion joins the World Autism Day since 3 years ago, thanks to the Runner Fashion, a solidarity event that was born by the Altea Autismo Association, it takes place in the province of Almeria and this 2024 celebrates its third edition, where, once again, we will be sponsors of this race; and all the money collected will be donated to the association.

In this way, the province is fulfilling the purpose of making the population aware of this condition. By combining health, sport and fun, we are able to ensure that this day is enjoyed by all ages, from the youngest to the oldest, who will join us on 21 April at 10:00 am in Almadrabillas Park where the starting gun will be fired.

After the race, you can find the Sandía Fashion stand, where we will hand out all the watermelon you can eat, so run fast to get there first! And while you enjoy the best taste of summer and a fun family atmosphere, there will be live music and more surprises.
