Do you remember that really original recipe from @fit_happy_sisters that we shared on our Instagram account? It was none other than a mille-feuille made with watermelon, mozzarella and ham.
We’ve gathered all the information so we can provide you with the necessary steps and ingredients here:
INGREDIENTS (Serves 4)
- Half a watermelon
- 1 portion of fresh mozzarella
- 50g of Serrano ham or prosciutto, sliced very thinly
- Batavia lettuce or similar
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Ground black pepper
- Sal
METHOD OF PREPARATION
Cut the half watermelon in half, then slice it into half-centimetre-thick slices, taking care to cut straight slices. Use a small knife to cut out squares or rectangles of roughly the same size. Remove any seeds and set aside.
Drain the mozzarella thoroughly and slice it into fairly thin slices. Wash the Batavia lettuce leaves, drain them and select the smaller ones. Slice the ham very thinly, if it hasn’t already been sliced.
Assemble two mille-feuilles by alternating layers of watermelon, ham, cheese and lettuce. Lightly season each layer with a little oil, salt and freshly ground black pepper. Secure with a toothpick or skewer to help keep the structure firm, and finish with a little more oil and pepper.
